Home Remedies for Bad Breath
Dandruff is a hair and scalp condition that affects millions of people across the world. In most cases it is not a health hazard but in extreme cases it could lead to skin and scalp infections and loss of hair. It is characterised by shedding and flaking of skin cells form the scalp, accompanied by itching which could lead to immense social embarrassment and low self esteem. There are no proven causes of dandruff but poor hygiene, oily scalp, dry scalp, stress, poor general health etc have been indicated as factors contributing to dandruff. A balanced, healthy diet, personal hygiene accompanied by a stress-free life are necessary for preventing and curing dandruff. That apart there are a host of home remedies that can be used to deal with this condition.
How to Make Home Remedies for Dandruff
Mix coconut oil with a few drops of lemon juice and massage it into the hair. Leave it so for the night and wash off the next day.
Add equal quantities of olive oil and almond oil and massage your head with it. Wash off when your scalp begins to burn.
Massage about a ¼ cup of vinegar into the scalp and leave for about 10 minutes before washing the hair normally.
Massage Tea Tree Oil onto your scalp before you shampoo.
Rub Aloe Vera gel into your scalp, leave it for 10 minutes and wash hair with a mild shampoo.
Soak 2 tablespoons fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind to a paste and massage onto scalp. Leave for 30 minutes and then wash off.
Add a teaspoon of lime juice to your last hair rinse.
Make a paste with fuller’s earth and lime juice and massage onto scalp. Leave for 30 minutes then wash off. Repeat this every week to prevent recurrence of the problem.
Mix 2 tablespoons of green gram powder with ½ cup curd and wash your hair with this twice a week.
Dilute apple cider vinegar with an equal quantity of water and dab onto your scalp and hair in between shampooing.
Mix vinegar and lime juice and rub onto your scalp. Wash off after half an hour or so. This helps hair growth too.
Massage your head with warm olive oil or sesame oil before shampooing.
Apply curd to your hair regularly to keep it free of dandruff.
