The first thing you have to understand is why teeth become stained and dingy. By avoiding foods, beverages or products that contribute to staining our teeth, we can maintain that naturally white teeth which we only see through TV and ads. However, making use of them in a three-times-a-day basis is not considered healthy. Although home remedies for whiter teeth include the use of teeth whitening pastes, using them should be limited to twice or thrice a week use.

Hydrogen Peroxide is also a household chemical that be gargled or swished inside your mouth to get whiter teeth in a few weeks time. However, be careful not to swallow it. It is normal to feel a burning sensation in your gums but your teeth will definitely be left clearer and cleaner.

Similar to hydrogen peroxide, using baking soda is also one of the most known home remedies for whiter teeth. Applying it to your teeth like your brushing them with soda or mixing it with toothpaste are both acceptable means of cleaning your teeth from stains.

It may sound too bizarre and icky but scrubbing wood ash into your teeth can help whiten teeth. Using them in long intervals (like once a week) is recommended as using it frequently can damage the teeth enamel.

Not everyone can afford dental whitening treatment—but it’s not a dead end for those who are really desiring to have their teeth whitened. It may take a longer waiting and patience for them but surely, the results are at par! Don’t give up and stay patient as most  of the remedies don’t take affect over night, most of the claims of overnight success are generally too good to be true.
