Bee stings
A Bee sting is a bite or sting from an Insect (Bee, Wasp). Bees include honey bee, Bumble Bee, fire ants. These bees inject venom when they sting the person’s skin. It causes mild to severe pain. Sometimes this venom may be allergic to certain skin types depending on the sensitivity on the individual. It is advisable to remove the bee stinger as soon as possible. These bees usually sting to protect themselves if the intruder is near their nest.
Symptoms of Bee stings
Generally for the normal skin type people the reaction are less like
Redness, itching, swelling in the affected area.
Burning sensation in the sting area.
Those with sensitive skin types the symptoms may be more like
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, Fever.
Unconsciousness and finding difficult to breathe.
Rashes all over the body, pus discharge.
Causes for Bee stings
This is mainly caused by the protein content in the insects that affects the immune system or skin cell of the human being.
Remedies for Bee stings
First thing is to remove the stinger from the skin with dull surface object instead of pulling it.
Wash the sting area with soap water and apply an ice cube or cold pack over it (don’t let the skin freeze).
Apply either antibiotic ointment or baking soda paste over it to.
Tooth paste can also be applied over the affected area.
Rub some fresh basil over the sting area to reduce the pain.
Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl can be taken to get relief from pain.
Most of the Bee stings needs only first aid and can be treated at home. If the symptoms are severe or frequent Bee sting occurs immediately hospitalize for doctors observation.
