Introducing a couple of garlic pod or brewer’s yeast in the dog’s food on a daily basis can help get rid of fleas. Fleas do not like garlic and yeast and once these substances are absorbed in the dog’s blood, the fleas leave them. In case of your pet being allergic to garlic, it can be substituted with flax seed oil.
White cider vinegar is said to help get rid of fleas. A spray bottle filled with this vinegar can be used to spray on the dog and keep him safe from the fleas.

Rosemary leaves are also said to kill fleas. A paste of rosemary leaves can be applied on the dog and then washed off once it dries. This is said to be an effective home remedy for flea treatment.
Using aromatherapy with scents like eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender etc in and around your pet is said to keep fleas at bay

Lemon juice made with immersing a cut lemon in boiling water and letting the mixture cool overnight can be used on your pet to keep away the fleas.

Filling pet bedding with cedar chips is also an effective home remedy for flea treatment.
A solution of salt water or lemon and water can be occasionally used to wash the house and the dog kennel. This also gets rid of fleas and prevents them from coming back.

It is important to regularly groom your pets, take them for regular health check up, make sure their vaccinations are up to date and use only mild products that suit them.
