History of Yoga

Yoga has been originated during the 3000 B.C. that was the era of Indus Valley Civilization. Yoga is even mentioned at ancient religious books of India. Earlier Yoga was known & practiced by the Sages but today it have become the part of living almost for everyone who considers it as the natural cure for all common diseases.

More than treating or considering Yoga as physical exercise it’s also considered in leading spirituality, connected to the God. It gives us the confidence in ourselves & to get rid of the evil. Some types of Yoga are mentioned below:

Vedic Yoga – The Vedas are the ancient manuscripts of the Indian Culture. The Vedic Yoga was practiced by the Sages and had to be practiced in lonely and calm areas.

Pre-classical Yoga – This form of Yoga was practiced 2000 year’s ago. The concept of passing the art of learning & practicing Yoga began in this era.

Post-classical Yoga – In this period, the concept of the Yoga schools came that provided the teaching on Yoga. This generation put focus on the breathing & meditation that help to make ones live, a long & youth full.

Modern Yoga – Modern Yoga came into limelight of the year 1893, due to the efforts & lectures given by Mr. Vivekananda at Chicago. Thereafter many Yoga master traveled all over the world inspired by him to spread the importance of learning Yoga. After that, lot of books were written & published on Yoga. We find most of the sport teams & athletes taking the help of Yoga to remain fit now a days.

Yoga today – Today yoga has become very popular all over the world due the growing concern for health, stress free life & reducing premature aging. Stress that causes many diseases can control through Yoga.
